Mr. Sujit Gulati, IAS (Retd.)

Mr. Sujit Gulati is a Mechanical engineer from IIT Delhi. Served for 34 years in the IAS and superannuated as Additional Chief Secretary to the Govt. of Gujarat in the rank of Secretary to Govt. of India. He has experience of more than 30 years in various economic sub-sectors, both at the level of the Government of India and Government of Gujarat in Steel, Coal, Finance and Textiles, Industry, Energy & Petrochemicals, Labour, Geology & Mining, Information Technology and Transport.

Widely travelled, he represented the government during his visits to various countries like the UK, USA, Russia, Germany, China, Australia, Columbia, Taiwan, Singapore, Czech Republic, Bangladesh, Japan, Germany, Poland, etc.

He was actively involved in the financial restructuring of SAIL, IISCO and Rashtriya Isapt Nigam Limited; introduction of e-auction for land disposal in the NTC; revival of 3 Nationalised Jute Mills; introduction of Agro and Geo Technical Textiles in the North East; establishment of six Centres of Excellence for different Technical Textiles, Composites and Non-Wovens. In the Govt. of Gujarat he played key roles in establishment of Gujarat State Wide Area Network, Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2009, revival of Bhavnagar Electricity Company and GSPC LNG,  initiating Solarization of agriculture power consumption, Hybrid policy for wind-solar, Wind/Solar Mega Parks policy, Dholera Mega Solar Power project, establishing Power R&D Centre in IIT-Gandhinagar, Off-shore wind power and electric vehicles/infrastructure initiatives, etc.

Served as Director on the Boards of Coal India, Western Coalfields Ltd., National Textiles Corp., Cotton Corp. of India, Jute Corp. of India, National Jute Mills Corp., NIWE, Indian Potash Ltd. DIGJAM, GSPC, GSPL, Guj Gas Ltd. GSPC LNG Ltd., GSFC, GNFC, GGRC, GMDC, GTPTCL, etc. as MD in GSFC, and as Chairman of GUVNL, GETCO, PGVCL, GIPCL, GPCL, Alcock-Ashdown, etc.

His core areas include Industry, Energy and associated sub sectors. Superannuated from the IAS in November 2019, he is currently engaged with the New Energy initiative (Renewable energy, Green Hydrogen and associated areas).
